A Baby File
I had one of the those "If I Knew Then What I Know Now" moments at my sister's baby shower recently. While I tried to keep our registry to what I truly thought we would need, there definitely were a few items that found their way into our collection that I look at now and think "why did I want that? I never use it." Which got me thinking, what are some gifts I could give a new mom to help them stay organized and would actually be used. My first thought was a Baby File. Remember all the instruction books and warranty information you said you would find something to do with after your shower? Remember all that important paperwork that the hospital sent home with you? Remember the gift cards you know you received but just can't quite remember what you did with them? What if you already had something that was contained, labeled and ready to accept your information. Ta da! I give you the Baby File. When I made my personal Baby File, I just purchased a small hanging file box from the local office supply store along with some hanging files and manila folders. I labeled folders for basic categories like Medical Bills, Gift Cards, Product Info and Important Documents. Even though it is a smaller file box there is plenty of room to expand to include things like photographs, birthday cards, artwork, etc. So any of my new mom friends out there, you can probably expect one of these coming your way at your shower. Trust me, when you're exhausted post birth with piles of papers you don't want to deal with you'll thank me.
